It's going to be very warm and very windy on Thursday.  Temperatures will climb into the mid 80s with strong winds out of the south and southwest.  Gust will get up over 35 mph, and sustained winds will reach 20 mph.

A Cold Front comes late Thursday, bringing a chance for some showers, mostly for the southeastern corner of the ArkLaTex.  After the front, temperatures fall fast.  We'll see lows in the 30s for the weekend.

    The 5.6 magnitude quake struck early Saturday in central Oklahoma, producing up to 10 aftershocks, lasting into Sunday morning. No serious injuries were reported, but several homes and buildings were damaged by the quake and the aftershocks.

  • The National Weather Service has done surveys on the wind damage from storms near Blanchard, Louisiana and around Sydney Street in the Martin Luther King neighborhood of Shreveport. They determined this damage to be the result of "MicroBurst" winds. This is the result of rain-cooled air accelerating downward. In a storms and spreading out at a destructive speed when it hits the ground.
