The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for a portion of the Baton Rouge area this afternoon. The advisory affects the southeast portion of the state, including cities such as New Orleans and Slidell.

Take the heat seriously Sunday and stay hydrated, as well as take frequent breaks in the shade or inside with AC. Also, don't forget to look in the backseat for kids and pets before locking the door.

The summer heat stays with us through the week. Highs will range from 93 to 94 degrees each day. Feels Like temperatures could reach 105 to 109 degrees Sunday through Tuesday. Don't count on a cooling shower for the work week.

Rain chances will range from 10 to 20 percent. By next weekend, a weak impulse will move west across the northern Gulf of Mexico.

This impulse will slowly move across the Gulf, resulting in a slow increase in rain chances next weekend into the following week.
