Search on for suspects in Allendale robbery, shooting

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The search is on for two suspects in the armed robbery and shooting of a man in Shreveport's Allendale neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Shreveport Police Department Spokesperson Sgt. Bill Goodin says right before 4 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Allen Avenue. Upon arrival, police found 28-year-old Dexter Taylor behind a home in that block  with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Taylor was taken to LSUHSC by the Shreveport fire department with what has been described as a non-life-threatening injury.

Taylor told police he was approached by two men, robbed of his wallet and shot in the leg. 

The suspects are described as two black males. The first suspect is about 6' with a stocky build and goatee. The second suspect is about 5' 10" with a thin build wearing a blue windbreaker and jeans.

Shreveport Police K9 unit has been called in to join the search in hopes of tracking down the suspects by their scents.
