NFL Draft: Scouting the Tigers

Posted: Updated:

Former LSU Tigers are ready to bring their talents to the NFL. With the Combine later this month and the Draft coming up in April, the WAFB Sports Team has selected several stories about our future stars.

From Yahoo.com:

The LSU Tigers have had eight players invited to the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The combine, the NFL's premier invitation only scouting event, will take place Feb. 22-28. Alabama had the most invites out of any school with nine.

From WWL.com:

When Claiborne arrived in Baton Rouge from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, he was the 90th best wide receiver in his senior class. He's now the number one cornerback.

From SBNation:

The latest Mock Draft is from Walter Football, and they have a bit of a surprising pick for the Jaguars. But first, the Buccaneers and Morris Claiborne, which has now just become a necessity at this point.

From The New York Times:

Michael Brockers came to L.S.U. as a linebacker. Now he stands 6-6 and weighs 306 pounds, and his linebacker days are long behind him. Brockers surely possesses a lot of upside, but here is why I believe Brockers is being overrated by others.

From CBS Sports:

There has been a defensive tackle chosen among the top 10 names off the board in each of the past five drafts, and Michael Brockers of LSU and Penn State's Devon Still could extend that streak this season.

From WWL.com:

For the eight LSU Tigers heading to the NFL Scouting Combine, the seven days in Indianapolis may be the most important for LSU Wide Receiver Rueben Randle.

From SBNation.com:

Randle could be a steal. This is a guy who, in a more dynamic passing offense, could have been far more productive.

From WWL.com:

"He's the most underrated football player on LSU's team," Detillier said of Brandon Taylor, one of eight LSU Tigers who will be participating in the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis which starts February 22.

From The National Football Post:

There is some talent in this year's safety class with 'Bama's Mark Barron, Okie State's Markelle Martin, LSU's Brandon Taylor, Boise State's George Iloka and Notre Dame's Harrison Smith.

From Walter Camp:

Projected Round: 4-6. Jefferson came back to lead LSU to some big wins over Alabama and Arkansas. For the regular season, he completed 50-of-83 passes for 684 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. Jefferson also ran for 309 yards and three scores.
