TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Two people in Texarkana, Texas were forced out of their home Monday morning after it was damaged by fire.

Fire officials say the fire was reported before midnight at a home in the 2500 block of Walnut St.

Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the roof of the home. Two people were reportedly inside at the time, but were alerted by neighbors of smoke coming from the home and were able to escape uninjured.

The home was heavily damaged, according to firefighters, with most of the damage in the attic area of the home.

An official cause has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
