State Fire Marshal Deputies have charged an Evangeline Parish man with setting fire to the trailer he was living in; the fire resulted from him being evicted.
The Evangeline Parish Ward 4 Fire District responded on January 20, to 4593 Heritage Road Lot 2, for a report that a mobile home was on fire. Firefighters arrived at 6:34 p.m. to discover that the entire trailer was burning. Once the fire was extinguished fire officials determined some suspicious circumstances and requested the State Fire Marshal's Office assistance.
An extensive investigation at the crime scene revealed evidence that has led to the arrest of Olen L. Fuselier (dob. 4-14-73). He is accused of setting fire to the residence that he was recently evicted from by his roommate. Fuselier has been charged with simple arson and is being held on a $50,000 bond in the custody of the Evangeline Parish Jail.
State Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning stated, "People who use fire in a criminal manner endanger the lives of the public and first responders, we simply will not tolerate this and will do our best to arrest these persons."
