SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A local man sits behind bars charged with attempted murder, after being accused of shooting another man multiple times during an altercation in downtown Shreveport.
At approximately 2:35 a.m. on December 25, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Commerce Street relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, patrol officers discovered 25-year-old Patrick Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and extremities. Johnson was transported to LSU Hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with what have been described as life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers were given a description of the suspect and, just moments after the shooting, located him and took him into custody without incident. Investigators responded to the scene of the crime and based on information gathered during the early stages of their inquiry believe the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Anthony Glasper, and the victim became embroiled in some type of dispute inside of a night club. Both men left the club and were outside in a parking lot when Glasper allegedly produced a firearm and fired shots at the victim.
Glasper, of the 2900 block of Judson Street in Shreveport, was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder.
