This past week we've seen incredible scenes of destruction in our viewing area and especially in Alabama.
The same storm system that moved through the Ark-La-Tex on Tuesday night caused massive loss of life and devastation to our neighbors to the east. It's hard to believe how powerful these storms can be and, in an instant, a home that was once standing is gone.
We were relatively lucky this time. Over a five or six hour period, multiple tornado warnings popped up.
For many, it was a frightening storm and some homes and businesses were damaged. fortunately, no loss of life.
I don't want to belabor the point, but this is why We Track Storms. Early warning is the best line of defense when it comes to tornados.
There is another tool you should have to keep your family safe. It's a weather radio. Even when you're sleeping it can alert you to a dangerous storm, giving you time to take cover. It's a way to keep in touch with the outside world when your power goes out.
