The images coming out of Japan paint a horrific picture of devastation.
The earthquake and tsunami washed entire towns away and when the final death toll is counted, it will almost certainly be monumental.
Besides being displaced by these natural disasters, thousands have been forced into shelters out of fear of radiation coming from the country's crippled nuclear power plants.
People all across America and right here in the Ark-La-Tex are looking for ways to help.
Unfortunately, others are looking to cash in on this tragedy by posing as charitable organizations.
The Better Business Bureau advises you to only give money to reputable organizations. If approached by an organization you are not familiar with, ask them for more information, including a list of their board members.
I always ask them to send me something in writing. If they refuse to answer your questions, don't give them your money.
