Every day senior citizens in our area go without a hot meal or someone checking on them. They are vulnerable, many are alone, but something is being done to help them. It's something I've told you about before.
It's the Meals on Wheels program. Everyday hot meals are brought to thousands of senior citizens in Caddo Parish alone, but many more are on a waiting list.
The problem is, because of budget cuts and higher gas prices, the program needs your help more than ever. If money isn't found, these folks won't get the help they need.
You or your business can come to the rescue. At Noon on March 23rd we are gathering in downtown Shreveport to show support and to raise money for the Meals on Wheels program.
Governments are cutting back and funds are shrinking. We need to take up the slack and help our senior citizens.
