Shreveport and the Ark-La-Tex have a rich musical tradition. For decades, the Louisiana Hayride Radio Show was broadcast from the Municipal Auditorium.
That show gave Shreveport a permanent place in music history and the tradition continues. At this Sunday's Grammy's. Several artists from the Ark-La-Tex have been nominated for awards including; Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Flett and Forever Jones.
It's unusual to have so many Grammy nominees from the Ark-La-Tex and that says a lot about our ability to nurture these artists.
As you watch The Grammy's this Sunday on KSLA News 12, you have some special, local folks to root for.
I'm James Smith.
