Denise Middleton is excited to join the KSLA News 12 team. Denise is a Texas native and is happy to be back in the south and closer to home. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Houston where she received a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in marketing.
She comes to the Ark-La-Tex from Hastings, Nebraska where she worked as a general assignment reporter at KHAS-TV. Before that, Denise interned at two stations in Houston, Texas, a top ten market. While interning at KPRC and KTRK, she obtained a great deal of knowledge of the field of journalism.
Denise feels lucky to inform the Ark-La-Tex community and meet new people every day. "This is certainly one of the best aspects of my job. I love to meet people and listen to their stories. It helps me observe matters from a different perspective."
Although she misses home in the big city, she is eager to learn more about Louisiana and the friendly communities across the state.
Denise loves to travel and spend time with friends and family. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, reading, and learning something new each day. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
