SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) – One man is in the hospital and another in custody after a late night shooting in Sabine Parish. The owner of Wright's Landing, Libby Lee, showed KSLA News 12 where the shooting took place. You can see one bullet hole in the victim's trailer, and she says the his recliner was on the other side of the wall.
"Look, I'm still shaking. We had like 2 hours of sleep, and I'm scared to death," said Lee.
Lee moved to Louisiana from California about 5 months ago when she and her fiance bought Wright's Landing. Until now she says it's been a quiet community, but Tuesday night around 11 p.m. a shooting victim, 56-year-old Ritchie Gauthreaux, went to her trailer for help.
"I hear a loud bang on my window, and there's this man mumbling, and when we came out the door he was holding his head like this and he said he got shot," said Lee.
Lee's fiance called the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Department, and Life Flight transported the victim to the hospital with a gun shot wound to the head.
Gauthreaux identified his shooter as his neighbor, 66-year-old Leon Glen Warren. Police arrested Warren and charged him with aggravated 2nd degree battery with a fire arm.
